Businesses are being offered free advice to help protect their premises against the threat of break ins and security breaches.

Steadfast Security has teamed up with the Peterlee and Seaham business park groups to host an event aimed at helping companies think more clearly about their on-site security.

Peterlee-based Steadfast is hosting the event in response to incidents in both Peterlee and Seaham, where businesses have been targeted by thieves.

The event Is at Spectrum Cultural Hub at Lighthouse Point at Spectrum Business Park in Seaham and is on Tuesday, May 22.

Mike McGaun, Business Development Manager at Steadfast, said: “The purpose is to really help businesses think more cleverly about their security and how well protected their business premises are.

“By being a bit smarter in your approach, you can also save money and make sure you’re less vulnerable to being targeted by criminals.

“We really want attendees to have greater peace of mind that they aren’t an easy target and educate them on some of the trends we’re seeing in the types of things thieves are most likely to go for.

“Ultimately, it’s to ensure our business communities are as safe as they can be and that there are no ‘easy targets’ when it comes to business security.”

The event starts at 8.30am with drinks provided, and presentations will begin around 9am. There will also be an opportunity for attendees to network afterwards, with the event finishing around 10.30am.
